If, like me, you live not far from what used to be the Safeway at 64th and Ward, you’ve probably been wondering what it is they’re planning to put in the now-empty storefront. Well, rest easy, Arvada, because now we know!
In a little over a week, the 24 Hour Fitness in Westminster, off of 88th and Wadsworth will be closing its doors permanently. It seems the company has decided that the former Safeway will be a better location for its gym. The new 24 Hour Fitness will begin operating sometime in December, according to a 24 Hour Fitness employee at the 80th and Sheridan branch.
In the interim, the 80th and Sheridan location will be the closest choice for Arvada residents with memberships. The new location, when it opens, will be a Super Sport location, meaning it will have a pool, sauna, racquetball court, juice bar, as well as the normal free weights and exercise machines. It will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It will definitely be nice to finally have a gym this close to my house. Who else is excited for 24 hour fitness to open here?
