It's been a long time since I'd tried a restaurant in this location — Arvada locals will know that, in the last five years, several businesses have moved in and out of those doors — and boy, I'm sure glad I gave this one a shot.
Anyone who reads my posts on this blog will probably know I am a sucker for local pride, and Homegrown provides this in spades. The restaurant's decor is an homage to Colorado life, and makes obvious the passion that the two owners have for this amazing state.
And the food! I'd call it Italian/American fusion (and of course, as a representative of my generation, I LOVE fusion foods) that celebrates local life — from sourcing their food locally, to designing the menu items to reflect Colorado tastes, the attention to detail is great. We tried a couple of the pizzas while we were there — the Ralston, which is a white sauce pizza, and was awesome, and the Front Range, because my partner has a thing for BBQ Chicken pizzas. And beers, in true Colorado tradition, are local as well — Tommy Knocker, Prost, Elevation, Left Hand, lots of local brewers,
It's really exciting to see someone thriving here. I've been missing the old Archive Room, but Homegrown has given me a new place that I love in Olde Town!
